I love it when people find new ways to do/use the things we’ve been doing the same way for ages.

The Lower Lights

I love creativity for creativity’s sake. Doing something not because you’re paid to do it or because you’re expected to do it, but because it makes you happy. It’s an expression of yourself. It’s something you want to share with others just so they can feel as uplifted/entertained/inspired experiencing it as you did creating it. After all, that’s what our talents are for, right?

So three cheers for The Lower Lights for putting together this project:

From their site:

The Lower Lights convened in fall 2009 for five days of diving into the hymns – familiar hymns, overlooked hymns, Hank Williams hymns, and more.

Drawing equal parts reverence and celebration from the rich mine of hymns, we ended the week with 30-plus songs that feel part-revival, part-vigil.

HTC 1 concept phone. iLust.

Going a little double rainbow over here after flashing my optics upon this mobile concept design from HTC with its über minimalistic design and revamped Sense UI.

I nabbed a couple of pix from here (click to make the thumbnails larger), but I think you should definitely head on over and check out the breadth of awesomeness for yourself.

And when I say awesomeness, I mean that this phone will kill the germs on it using UV light whenever you plug it in. If you have another definition of awesomeness I don’t think I want to know what it is.

I feel property values declining as we speak

Dear Neighbor,

Dumping a bunch of crap in your front yard and putting up a sign that says “free stuff” does not constitute a yard sale. Nobody wants your random tupperware lids. The sad thing is that it probably took you more time to make the sign than it would have for you to just put your trash in the trash which makes you lazy and stupid.

Thanks for keeping it classy.
