Got me some new shoes from Salt Lake Running Company. This is a big deal for me because my feet are two different sizes: 10 and 12, respectively. That makes it difficult to find a place that will break up two pairs to give me the proper size for each foot, so major props to SLRC for doing so. Not to mention killer customer service overall. If you’re looking for a new pair of shoes, definitely go there.

It also meant I’d have to relocate my Nike+ sensor (follow my Nike+ progress here). I DIY’d this bad boy with some of that padding you put on your shelves for your dishes and duct tape (natch). I fashioned a nice little pouch out of the shelf stuff and secured it with the tape. Not brilliant, but better than the sandwich bag, duct tape and zip tie arrangement I had going on my old pair of shoes.

Double bonus points? My feet don’t hurt after runs.

Speaking of runs, I’ve now logged a 10 mile run and two 11 mile runs. Feeling pretty good about that since if you’d told me six months ago I’d be running anything into double digits (even in kilometers) I would have probably slapped you in the face and called you mean names.

FREE INSIGHT: It takes a lot of time to train for this thing. Cranking out 25-ish miles a week, plus cool-down after each run kinda kills three evenings a week. I’m averaging 10:30 per mile so you do the math. (Really, you do the math – I’m feeling lazy.) Looking forward to getting the half marathon under my belt so I can scale things back a bit.

Triple bonus points? Haven’t seen more creepy guys in the park.
