Oh, get off your high horse. How else do you expect a market to react with a cartel controlling the majority of the resource, an explosion of demand, a volatile futures trading market, and an aging refinery infrastructure? Those Chevron boys are laughing all the way to the bank, but it ain’t their fault that the price is high.
